Our logo first appeared in 1972 and was updated in 2004 to convey United Way as a contemporary
organization that is sensitive to the changing needs of our society.
You see this person everywhere on posters, billboards, even on TV. You
immediately identify him as an integral part of the United Way logo, but
have you ever asked yourself who this person is? This person is the universal
symbol of mankind - you and everyone of use who is touched in some way by the helping
hand of the United Way.
The helping hand, the second part of the United Way logo, symbolizes the
services and programs supported by the United Way that in turn support the
people in our community.
The rainbow springing forth from the helping hand represents the hope for a
better life that is possible through the United Way.
